Terms of Use
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Canadian Game Forces (CGF) is a hobby gaming community run by one person in Alberta, Canada. These terms cover this website (canadiangameforces.com), our Discord server, our DayZ and Rust game servers (the Rust servers are called "Hazard's Island"), the Steam account link, donations through Ko-fi, and our forum (forum.canadiangameforces.com).
By using any of them, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. It says what we collect, and how the forum's emails are counted by the mail service that sends them.
1. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or older.
- You also have to follow the terms of Discord, Steam and each game. Those are theirs, not ours.
2. The rules
The full rules are in the rules channel on our Discord server and on the Rules page of this website. They apply everywhere: the forum, Discord and the game servers.
The spirit is simple:
- No hate speech and no slurs.
- No cheating. No hacks, no exploits, no help for cheaters.
- No harassment. No threats, no stalking, no posting other people's private information.
- Nothing illegal, and no spam or scams.
3. Your account
- One person, one account. Don't share it.
- Don't make a second account to get around a ban.
- Keep your password safe. You can turn on two-step login (2FA) on the forum, and we suggest you do.
- Tell us if you think someone else got into your account.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account.
4. What staff may do
To keep the community safe and fair, staff may:
- remove, edit or move content
- warn you
- mute, kick or suspend you
- ban you, for a set time or for good
A ban can cover the forum, Discord and both games. A ban on one game also applies to the other. Some bans are automatic, for example for slurs in game chat. Serious cases, like hate speech or cheating, can mean a ban with no warning first.
5. How to appeal
Use the "Ban appeals" inbox on the forum. It is private between you and staff. It works even if you are banned from our Discord: sign up on the forum with a username and password.
The appeal rules:
- one open appeal at a time
- we try to answer within 7 days
- after a first "no", wait 30 days before you ask again; after a second "no", 8 months; after a third "no", you can ask once a year
- no appeals for bans for cheating or exploits, or for hate speech or slurs
6. Your content
- What you post stays yours.
- By posting, you let CGF store it, show it and back it up, on the forum and on our Discord server.
- Only post what you have the right to post. No stolen artwork, no pirated files, no one else's private information.
- Staff may remove content that breaks these terms.
- What happens to your posts when your account is deleted is in the Privacy Policy.
7. CGF's names and artwork
CGF™, Canadian Game Forces™ and the CGF shield are trademarks of CGF. All artwork © 2026 CGF (Canadian Game Forces). All rights reserved. Please don't copy or reuse our pictures without permission.
CGF is a fan community. It is not run or approved by the makers of DayZ, Rust, Steam or Discord.
8. Donations
- Donations are voluntary. A donation supports the servers. Nobody has to donate to play.
- Donations go through Ko-fi. Ko-fi handles the payment.
- As a thank-you, each donation gives you a supporter role on Discord and the priority queue on our game servers for 30 days from the day you donate. Any other thank-you is at our choice and can change.
- Boosting our Discord server gives you the priority queue on our game servers while the boost lasts. It ends when the boost ends.
- If you are banned, you do not get the role or the priority queue while the ban lasts.
- Donations are voluntary and are not refunded, except a payment made by mistake or without the card owner's permission: open a ticket within 14 days. A ban does not give you a refund.
9. No guarantees
CGF is a hobby service run from the owner's home. We do our best, but:
- The servers, the forum and the website can be down, slow or restarting.
- Game data gets wiped and reset. Maps, bases, items and stats can be lost at a wipe, after an update or after a crash.
- We may change or close any part of the service.
So everything is offered "as is". As far as the law allows, CGF is not responsible for losses that come from using our services, such as lost game progress or lost time.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we post the new ones on this page with the date, and say so on our Discord. If you keep using our services after that, you accept the new terms.
11. The law
These terms follow the law of Alberta, Canada.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms: open a ticket on our Discord, or use "Contact staff" on our forum.
