How do I join?
Join our Discord and accept the rules there. Pick your games in Channels & Roles at the top of the channel list, so you see the DayZ and Rust channels. Then pick a server on the Servers page and find it in the game's own server list. The How to join page has every step. The Servers page has Join buttons: one click and the game opens on the server.
Who can join?
Adults only: you must be 18 or older.
Do I need to download anything?
Rust: no, our servers are vanilla. DayZ: Chernarus and Livonia need nothing; Sakhal needs the Frostline DLC; Nasdara needs the Badlands DLC; Deer Isle and Namalsk are modded maps, and the DayZ launcher downloads their mods for you.
What kind of servers are they?
DayZ: PvP, first person only, no crosshair, 50 players per map. Chernarus, Livonia, Sakhal and Nasdara share one character; Deer Isle and Namalsk have their own. Rust: three vanilla servers called Hazard's Island, 50 players each, teams of up to 8.
Where do I see if a server is up, and where is its address?
The Servers page shows every server live, with its Join buttons. Rust players can also press F1 and paste the line shown there (our servers answer to play.canadiangameforces.com). The server status channel on our Discord shows the same.
When do the servers restart?
Every day, at the times on the Servers page (Alberta Time), with a countdown in game.
I went away from my keyboard. Does that count as play time?
After 30 minutes without moving, your time stops counting toward hours and medals until you move again. When a server is full, players idle for 60 minutes or more may be kicked to make room.
Why should I link my Steam account?
To earn medals and stat cards on Discord for what you do on our servers. One link covers every server.
How do I link it?
One click on the Link Steam page, or type /link in game and enter the code on our Discord. Both ways are explained on that page.
How do I unlink it?
Ask staff: open a ticket on our Discord.
Where are the rules?
On the Rules page, and in the rules channel on our Discord.
I found a bug, or I have an idea. Where does it go?
Bugs go in the bug-reports channel and ideas in the suggestions channel on our Discord. For a bug, say what happened, on which server and when. An exploit, a cheater or anything about another player goes to the staff in private (a ticket on our Discord, or "Contact staff" on our forum), never in public.
I was banned. What now?
A ban on one of our game servers covers all of them, and a timed ban ends everywhere by itself. To ask for a ban to be lifted, see the Appeals page.
How do I support the servers, and what do I get?
Donations go through Ko-fi; the Donate page says how. As a thank-you, for 30 days after each donation you get a supporter role on our Discord and the priority queue on our game servers. Boosting our Discord server also gives you the priority queue while the boost lasts. Nobody has to give anything to play.
Can I get a refund?
Donations are voluntary and are not refunded, except a payment made by mistake or without the card owner's permission: open a ticket within 14 days. A ban does not give you a refund.
How do I reach staff?
Is there a forum?
Yes: our forum. Use it to appeal a ban, to write to the staff in private (it works even if you are not on our Discord), and to see what changed on our servers.
What do you keep about me?
Only what we need to run the community. It is all in our Privacy Policy.
DayZ
Do the DayZ maps wipe?
There is no fixed schedule. A wipe is announced in the DayZ chat on our Discord; take the Wipe & Restart Pings role there to be told.
What is humanity on DayZ?
Everyone starts as a Survivor. Killing Survivors or Heroes lowers your humanity; killing Bandits and helping strangers raises it. Go low enough and you're a Bandit, high enough and you're a Hero, with three levels each and an armband of your side. Type /humanity in game to see yours. The DayZ page has the details.
Can I claim a base area on DayZ?
Yes: raise a flag and type /area claim. Only you and your group can build fences, towers and flag poles in your area: 50 m around your first flag, and up to 4 more flags of 30 m. /area check tells you whether a new flag can go where you stand. Raiding works as everywhere. The DayZ page has the details.
How do I report a player or a cheater in DayZ?
DayZ has no report key in game. Open a ticket on our Discord with the player's name, which map, the day and the time with your time zone, what happened, and a clip or a screenshot if you have one. Staff check it against the server's own logs. A report is private: only you and staff see it. Please don't accuse anyone in the game's chat or in a public channel. A clip helps more than anything.
Rust
Why can't I see your Rust servers?
Our three Rust servers are Premium servers. The game only shows them to accounts with at least $15 US of Rust items in their Steam inventory, and only those accounts can join. That is Facepunch's own rule for Premium servers, announced in March 2025: items from the game's store and tradable Rust items count, DLC packs do not. An account under that, and a brand-new account, cannot see or join them. We chose it because it keeps throwaway cheater accounts out.
When do the Rust servers wipe?
Wipes happen on Thursdays at Facepunch's forced-wipe hour: about noon Alberta Time (1 pm from late October to late March). Weekly: every Thursday. Biweekly: the first and third Thursday of the month. Monthly: the first Thursday. Each wipe brings a new random map, size between 3500 and 4500. Blueprints are kept between our wipes. To be told before a wipe, take the Wipe & Restart Pings role in Channels & Roles on our Discord.
Is one of the Rust servers PVE?
Yes: Monthly. Players can't hurt each other there, and raiding is against the rules: other players' doors, walls and boxes are off limits (traps and turrets are allowed). Its kills count for nothing: no kill feed, no PvP medals or titles from Monthly. On the lifetime leaderboard and the /stats card: kills, deaths and K/D: Weekly and Biweekly. Time played: all three servers. Weekly and Biweekly are PvP.
How do I report a player or a cheater in Rust?
Press F7 in game, pick the player and the reason: the report goes to our staff. Or open a ticket on our Discord with the player's name, which server (Weekly, Biweekly or Monthly), the day and the time with your time zone, what happened, and a clip or a screenshot if you have one. A report is private: only you and staff see it. Please don't accuse anyone in the game's chat or in a public channel. A clip helps more than anything.
